You can earn a belt loop just for learning about
a sport or academic subject and participating in it. You can take
part in the program at home, in your den or pack, or in activities
in you community. There are thirty-one Academics and Sports subjects
for you to choose from.
This program is not meant to be a competitive program, instead,
the boys are encouraged to DO THEIR BEST. For scouts unable to participate
in the activity, you can not substitute requirements. You can adjust
the requirements so that a boy only has to do his best.
The Academics and Sports Program is an optional program for all
Cub Scouts. It is not part of the normal requirements towards ranks
(except where used in obtaining the Webelos Sportsman and Athlete
Activity Badges). Its purpose is to assist the Scouts in learning
a new skills, or improving ones they already posses.
Beltloops, pins, letters can be are earned by all boys in the Cub
Scout program (Tiger Cubs, Wolf and Bear Cub Scouts, and Webelos
Scouts). |
