2/26/03 - Monday night, the 24th, we held our annual Dad & Lad Cake Bake. All of the dads and scouts did a great job on their cakes. Ribbons were awarded for best cakes in each division of scouts and then the cakes were auctioned off. We raised $101.00 this year. If you purchased a cake, Pack 135 appreciates your support. 2/23/03 - Saturday Feb. 22nd, five scouts from Pack 135 took part in the Central District Pinewood Derby. Although it is open to anyone, this derby tends to be the "best of the best" in the entire Central District. In attendance for Pack 135 was Chase Richards who took 3rd place in the Webelos division, Alec Moreno who got a plaque for best driver in all divisions, Jordan Thompson who took 2nd in the Bears division, Jed Burge who took 4th in the Bears division, and Sam Burge who took 2nd in the Tiger Cubs division. We are very proud of these Scouts and their accomplishments at this Derby. It is also worth mentioning, that Bobby Thompson won 4th in the adult competition. Click here for pictures.

2/17/03 - Tonight Alec Moreno and Chase Richards, both second year Webelos, attended a Boy Scout Meeting held by Troop 12 in Paris. This puts these scouts one step closer to their Arrow of Light and becoming a Boy Scout. 

2/9/03 - Today was "Scout Sunday" at the Methodist Church in Bogata and the entire Central District. Their respective Church Sponsors recognized all Scouts throughout North East Texas today. In attendance for Pack 135 were Carter Kelsey, Chase Richards, Jed Burge, Same Burge, and Jacob Thompson. The Scouts lead the congregation in the pledge and Scout Master Bill Burge presented the pastor with Pack 135's Charter for 2003.

1/27/03 - The Pinewood Derby, one of the most anticipate events on the Scout calendar, was held tonight at the Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. We had seventeen scouts and eight adults take part in the derby. Trophies were awarded for Tiger Cubs, Wolves, Bears, and Webelos for racing and best of show. Also awarded were grand champion racing and grand champion best of show trophies. We would like to thank the Scout Masters from Paris for the use of their track. Click here for pictures.

12/9/02 - Tonight we had our yearly Scout Christmas Party. We had over twenty Scouts in attendance. The Scouts played games and took part in the Chinese Christmas game of exchanging presents. Click here for pictures.

12/6/02 - Money from our annual Popcorn sale was turned in to the Netseo Trails Council in Paris today. Pack 135 would like to thank the following Scouts who participated in selling  popcorn this year: Aaron Eudy, Carter Kelsey, Dakota Ward, Ashton Sellers, Jacob Thompson, Josh Newsom, Alec Moreno, Jordan Thompson, Sammy Newsom, Dillion Cortez, Sam Burge, Chase Richards, and Jed Burge. We would also like to recognize our top sellers this year: Aaron Eudy-$518.00, Sam Burge-$498.00, and Alec Moreno-$475.00. Pack 135 raised $4007.00 in sales this year in which we will receive approximately 1/3 of that for our account. This money will be used for scouting books, supplies, trophies and ribbons throughout the year, Mom & Me, Dad & Lad, and of course the Blue Gold Banquet.

12/3/02 - Today Pack 135 took part in the Bogata Christmas Parade. The theme was Cub Scout Indians. We would like to thank Bobby Thompson, Joe Travis Kelsey, Eric Moreno and scouts Carter Kelsey, Jordan Thompson, Davy Cruise and Alec Moreno for building and preparing our float. 11/18/02 - Tonight Pack 135 held their first ever Rain Gutter Regatta. About 18 scouts were in attendance. We would like to thank Bill Burge, Eric Moreno, Chase Richards and Alec Moreno for building the regatta track. Click here for pictures.

11/4/02 - This last weekend (2nd - 3rd) Pack 135 held their 2nd annual family campout at South Lake. The weather turned cold and rainy, but a few campers weathered the storm. Among these were, Dillion Cortez, Mary Tiffy and Scotty. Also camping was Sam Burge, Jed Burge, Chase Richards and Bill Burge. The group held a flag retirement ceremony and Chase, Dillion, and Jed earned various achievements toward their Webelo and Bear badges.

10/29/02 - Last night we held our annual Halloween Costume party. All of the scouts were dressed very unique and very spooky. The adult participation was at an all time high. Pack 135 would like to extend a very special thanks to Kim Kelsey and others who went above and beyond the call of duty in bringing sweets and other snacks. Click here for pictures.

10/26/02 - On Oct. 21st Pack 135 toured the Paris Fire Station. The firemen talked about fire safety and demonstrated various pieces of equipment that they use on the job such as the jaws of life, infrared scopes, and oxygen masks. Click here for pictures.

9/22/02 - Saturday September 21st the Netseo Trails Council in Paris held their 1st Annual Cub Scout Fun Day. In attendance from Pack 135 was: Ashton Sellers, James Harper, Alec Moreno, Jed Burge, Chase Richards, and Sam Burge. The scouts participated in a variety of activities and received a scout patch. 9/16/02 - Sunday September 15th we held our second Annual Cub Scout Bike Ride. It was bigger and better than last year. We had more participation in every category this year, making this a great ride. Pack 135 would like to thank all of the parents who took part in the race and the ride. The boys seem to get so much more out of these events when their parents are a part of them. We would like to extend a special thanks to Kim & Joe Travis Kelsey for providing refreshments at the race, to Bobby Thompson & Scotty Lum for "manning" the traffic check points which helped keep the scouts safe and lastly to Jon & Stacie Newsom, Kim Kelsey, Kathy Thompson, Debbie Moreno, Mary Tiffie, Tammy Sellers, and Tracy Eudy who helped keep watch over the boys on the ride (not an easy job). 9/4/02 - Our first big event of this year will be our 2nd Annual Cub Scout Bike Ride. We had alot of fun last year and we hope that it will be just as exciting and fun for the boys this year.
