Christmas Party
Dec 12th is our Troop Christmas Party. This is a great time for us to get together to socialize and celebrate the season. All scouts/parents are asked to bring a party food item. Due to the fire the youth leadership made an executive decision to not play the usual dirty santa. Instead, it is asked that all scouts bring a monetary contribution to help replace lost equipment and purchase reconstruction supplies.
We will meet at the Gadsden Masonic Lodge to celebrate.  We look forward to seeing everyone there. Merry Christmas.
Cabin Fire
As everyone may know, a few weeks back we had a fire at teh Goodyear Scout Cabin. We had a vast amount of damage. All of our electrical is out as well as our water. We had severe smoke and water damage. We also lost a lot of equipment. We have lost a few lanterns and components, stove components, all dining flies, a few tents (only one of which was a new Mantra 7), all but one cooler, Patrol box items, small propane tanks, a riding lawnmower. The entire building had to be pressure washed. We will have to replace some wood in the first storage room, all electrical components, some light fixtures, and an industrial fan. The entire building will also need to be primed and repainted. This was a tragedy but it could have been much worse. The Troop Leadership would also like to express its thanks to all of the scouts and parents who have helped in our rebuilding process. It has amazed us in how eager and hardworking our scouts and parents have been. It is good to see that through this struggle our troop has become more unified and determined.
Etowah District Christmas Party
On Dec 13th, Troop 58 has been called upon to host the Annual District Christmas Party. We need as many scouts as possible to help with this event. If your our a member of the Junior Leadership you are required to attend. If for any reason you are unable to, please, contact a member of the adult leadership.
Gadsden Christmas Parade
The Gadsden Christmas Parade, Dec 5, is a great way to show Gadsden who we are. We ask that all scouts, who are able, attend. If you are in Band or another organization who will be in th eparade, you are excused. Scouts are required to wear their Class A Uniforms. Thanks so much to all of our Scouting Family.
