About Troop 55

Troop 55 has been in existence at Concord United Methodist Church for over 50 years.  Many parents of Scouts have remained with the Troop after their sons have reached Eagle and moved on, and some of our Scouts return as adults to work with the new boys.  We are proud to carry on the tradition of Boy Scout Troop 55.

Our Scoutmaster is Dave Witt.  Mr. Witt has been with Scouting for many years, and this is his fifth year as Scoutmaster.

Last year, we had 26 boys in our Troop.  Activities included camping, a Thanksgiving Family Feast and Campout, a Survival Camp, and recently sledding at Pokagon, and others.  We also spent a week of summer camp at Muskingum Scout Reservation.

As the 2005 school year gets underway, we are planning many exciting fall activities. We are also welcoming several new boys to "Green Bar" as leaders within the troop, including Jimmy, our senior patrol leader.  Feel free to drop in on one of our weekly meetings and see what we are up to!
