Scouting for Food is divided into two Saturdays. On the first we distribute special scout grocery bags to the homes in our assigned area then the following Saturday we return to pick up the loaded bags of food. Saturday Nov 13 - Bag Pickup 8:30-9:00am - Assemble for team assignments (Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts), area assignments (map), bags and directions 9:00am-12:00pm - Collect bags 12:00-1:00pm - Collect all bags together (boys can leave at this point) and bring to area food drop-off location in one vehicle, process food and get quantity collected. Boys will be invited if they want to watch how the process works. So what does this mean? It means that when you click on the printer icon on the bottom of the site or use the "print" function in your browser you will be able to print each page of our site free of clutter and wastefull colors. This helps save money on ink as well as simplify information for all of you. The CALENDAR is also included in this new development. Pizza, perhaps, delivered for those that might be a bit hungry. Bring your own drinks. The theme for the parade is "Santa's Workshop". We are planning a video game night with multiple gaming systems on multiple screens. All games are appropriate for Cub Scout age boys. To make this a party we will need food. Instead of snacks and sweets we could have a potluck meal. Should you feel so inclined you are welcome to bring a dish of your liking to share with the group. Troop 709 also provided cleanups for the area. We definitely enjoyed the excitement, fun, and fellowship.
