Wolf Scout

The Wolf Scout Trail is for 2nd grade boys typically ages 6 & 7 years old. The achievements are a little tougher but are age appropriate and teach them to begin stretching their physical abilities. They also begin to learn about their family and community, and how they participate.

Typically the Scouts meet in a Den meeting for 1 hour but now meet every week under the direction of a Den Leader. The Den Leader receives direction and guidance from the CubMaster on how to deliver the program most effectively. Once the Scouts have completed 49 out of 62 tasks they are recognized for their achievement and awarded the Wolf Scout rank at the Pack meeting. It should be noted the if a Cub Scout has not previously earned the Bobcat Badge, it must be earned first before the Wolf ranks can be awarded.

The Wolf Scout Trail activities are done both in the Den meetings and at home. If an activity is done at home, the parent will sign off that the Scout has completed the task. The book is then shown to the Den Leader who records the progress and also signs the Scout's book. Emphasis is put on the family to complete as many of the assigned tasks as possible and the family can use this effort to further the family bond.

A Cub Scout must earn the Bobcat Badge before working towards the Wolf badge.
