Uniforms

A Cub Scout should wear his uniform to all Den meetings, Pack Night, and all Pack activities and outings unless directed by their Leader.

Tiger, Wolf & Bear Cub Scouts

Cub Scouts are boys who are in the first, second or third grade (or 7 to 9 years old).  Cub Scout den meetings are run by an adult Den Leader with the help of an Assistant Den Leader and Den Chief.  Meeting activities are planned around monthly themes and include work on advancement requirements, games, crafts, hikes and other outdoor activities, and taking part in simple ceremonies and songs.

The Tiger Cub Scout uniform changed on August 1, 2004. The Tiger Cub Scouts wear the blue Cub Scout uniform with the orange Tiger hat and neckerchief with a special Tiger Scout neckerchief slide. The orange Tiger t-shirt can be used for outdoor activities.

Wolf Cub Scouts wear the blue Cub Scout uniform with the yellow Wolf hat and neckerchief while Bear Cub Scouts wear the blue hat and neckerchief.

Webelos Scouts

Webelos, which stands for "WE'll BE LOyal Scouts," is a program for boys who are 10 years old or have completed the third grade.  A boy may begin working on the Webelos badge as soon as he joins a Webelos den.  This is the first step in his transition from Cub Scout pack to the Boy Scout troop.  As a Webelos Scout completes the requirements found in the Webelos Scout Book, he will work on activity badges, attend meetings led by adults, and become familiar with the Boy Scout requirements — all leading to the highest award a boy can earn as a Cub Scout, the Arrow of Light Award.

Webelos Scouts may wear the blue Cub Scout or khaki Boy Scout uniform.  Webelos cap, neckerchief, and insignia placement is the same for either uniform.

All participation patches and badges of rank are bought by the Pack as they are earned. Awards are presented during Pack Night award ceremonies.

Where does that patch go?

Instructions regarding the correct placement of insignia and badges can be found on the inside cover of the Cub Scout handbooks.  In addition you may download the official uniform inspection sheets here:
