Troop 494 Disclaimer and Web Policy

Youth protection and privacy guidelines:

· No identifiable youth pictures or last names on publicly accessible pages.

· No private home addresses will be published

· No private home phone numbers will be published

· Written parental permission required to use photos involving their Scout and to use first name with Initial of the last name.

· Contact with troop webmaster will be through anonymous email address (Troop494Info@yahoo.com)

· This website is for the use of Troop 494's Scouts and parents. This site does not represent the Boys Scouts of America or the Santa Clara County Council in any way.

· This website is supervised by an Assistant Scoutmaster to ensure privacy and conformity to website guidelines set forth by the Troop, Santa Clara County Council and the Boy Scouts of America.

· The troop will make every attempt to follow all applicable laws, copyright laws, and especially the scout law.

The troop maintains a Yahoo! e-group that requires registration and approval to gain access. The e-group is used to send out regular messages pertaining to outings, meetings, and access to Troop 494 private databases and files.
